Job Summary
NDMA is looking for a Senior Consultant to contribute significantly to the field of disaster management, specifically focusing on Glacial Lake Outburst Floods (GLOF) and Landslide Lake Outburst Floods (LLOF). Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert consultancy and technical support on issues related to GLOF and LLOF.

- Contribute to the development of strategies, policies, and guidelines for disaster risk reduction and mitigation in the context of GLOF and LLOF.

Eligibility Details
Educational Qualifications
Essential:
- Master's degree in any of the following disciplines: Geology, Civil Engineering, Geo-technical Engineering, Glaciology, Remote Sensing, Disaster Management, or a similar relevant subject.
Desirable:
- Ph.D./M.Phil or specialization in Geo-technical Engineering, Glaciology, Landslide or GLOF risk mitigation, or a related subject.
Experience
Post Qualification Experience:
- Minimum of five years of experience in landslide/avalanche/GLOF/Glaciology related subjects is required.
- Duration of research work (Ph.D./Post Doctoral) will be considered as work experience. Actual duration or 5 years, whichever is less, will be counted.
- Field experience in projects with substantial use of disaster risk reduction and mitigation in report preparation will be given additional weightage during the selection process.
- Both educational qualifications and work experience must demonstrate the applicant's credentials as an established expert in the field.
- Note for Retired Government Officials: Retired Government officials with matching education and experience, with a maximum age of 62 years and who have held a position with a grade pay of INR 7,600/- or more, are also eligible to apply.
Application Details
Remuneration: Rs. 1,25,000/- to Rs. 1,75,000/- per month for Senior Consultant. Remuneration for retired Government employees engaged as Consultants will be regulated as per the Ministry of Finance, Department of Expenditure O.M. No. 3-25/2020-E.IIIA dated 09th December, 2020.

Mode of Selection

Shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview. The mode of interview (in-person or virtual) will be communicated to the shortlisted candidates in due course. The selection committee constituted by NDMA will evaluate the candidates based on their qualifications, experience, and performance in the interview.
