    The following faculty positions are available across various Academic Areas, including Economics & Public Policy, Finance & Control, Information Systems & Analytics, Marketing, Operations & Quantitative Techniques, Organizational Behaviour & Human Resources, and Strategy & Liberal Studies.

    Eligibility Details

    General Qualification:

    Ph.D. in the appropriate branch with first class or equivalent (in terms of grades, etc.) in the preceding degree, with a very good academic record throughout.

    Experience Requirements:

    • Professor: Minimum 10 years teaching/research/industrial experience, with at least 4 years at the level of Associate Professor in IITs, IIMs, IISc Bangalore, and IISERs or equivalent.
    • Associate Professor: Minimum 6 years' experience, with at least 3 years at the level of Assistant Professor or equivalent. Industry/Govt/PSU experience of 6 years at equivalent level considered.
    • Assistant Professor Grade-I: Minimum 3 years of teaching/research/industrial experience (exclusive of Ph.D. period). Fresh Ph.D. may be considered on a contract basis in exceptional cases.
    • Assistant Professor Grade-II (On Contract): For bright young Ph.Ds. to teach and earn experience. No specific minimum experience required beyond Ph.D.

    Screening Criteria Highlights:

    • Academic Record: First Class or equivalent in Master's Degree and High Second Class (Min 55%) or equivalent in Bachelor's Degree.
    • Relaxations: 5% relaxation for SC/ST/DAP and 3% relaxation for OBC in Master's and Bachelor's degrees.
    • Publications (Examples): Professor requires minimum 2 Research Papers in category A journal or 4 in B or 8 in C. Associate Professor requires minimum 1 Research Paper in A, 2 in B, or 4 in C. Assistant Professor Grade-I requires at least 2 publications in Web of Sciences/Scopus/ABDC Journal.
    • Case studies published in Harvard Case Publishing / Richard Ivey / Emerald are considered equivalent to 'C' category papers.

    • Candidates interviewed by IIM Shillong in the past 1 year may not be considered unless they have significant updates.
    • The Institute follows Govt. of India Reservation Policy for SC, ST, NC-OBC, EWS, and PwD categories; relevant certificates must be provided.
    • Mere fulfillment of minimum eligibility criteria does not guarantee an interview call. The Screening Committee reserves the right to devise its own criteria.
    • The Institute may relax age, qualification, and experience requirements in exceptional/deserving cases.
    • Part-time experience will not count towards requisite experience for shortlisting.
