Job Description
The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) is looking for a Senior Consultant to join their team on a contract basis. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of meteorology, climate hazards, and disaster management. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in preparing lightning and heat action plans and possesses strong writing skills to communicate effectively with national and state agencies.

Educational Qualifications
The candidate must hold a postgraduate degree in Meteorology, Environmental Sciences, Agriculture, Agri-meteorology, Climate Change Studies, Public Health, or Disaster Management. A doctorate in a relevant field like Meteorology, Disaster Management, Environment Sciences, or Climate Change is desirable. Experience in published papers and post-qualification experience in the relevant field is highly appreciated.
Experience
The candidate should have a minimum of 5 years of work experience in meteorology, climate hazards, extreme weather events, or a related field. This experience should have been gained while working with a government agency or an organization specializing in disaster risk reduction. The candidate should have proven experience in preparing lightning and heat action plans. Retired government employees with Grade Pay of Rs.8700 (pre-revised) / Level - 13 (7th CPC) and above with a minimum experience of 5-10 years in the relevant field are encouraged to apply. Priority will be given to candidates with experience in handling cold wave risk reduction and/or Heat Wave.
