Eligibility Details
Candidates must meet the following criteria for the post of Scientist/Engineer 'SC' in Machine Design:
- Essential Qualification (Pre-requisite): First Class Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or B.E./B.Tech./B.Sc. (Engineering) or equivalent qualification, with an aggregate minimum of 65% marks (Average of all semesters) or CGPA/CPI grading of 6.84 on a 10-point scale.
- Essential Qualification (Post Graduate): M.E./M.Tech./M.Sc (Engg) or equivalent post-graduate degree in Machine Design with an aggregate minimum of 60% marks or CGPA/CPI grading of 6.5 on a 10-point scale.
- Alternative Qualification for AMIE/Grad IETE candidates: Minimum 65% marks or CGPA 6.84 on a 10 point scale in Section B alone for candidates with AMIE/Grad IETE qualification.
Age Criteria: The upper age limit as on 14.11.2025 is 18-30 Years.
Note on Dual/Integrated Degrees: Equivalence and calculation criteria for CGPA/Percentage in dual/integrated degrees apply as specified in the general notes.

- Qualifying Criteria (For Post Code 01 & 02): Minimum 50% marks each in Part A, B & C, and an aggregate of 60%.
- Candidates qualifying the Written Test will be shortlisted for Interview in a 1:5 ratio (minimum 10 candidates).
- Tie-breaking order: 1st - Academic score of essential qualification; 2nd - Age (older candidate placed ahead).
