Eligibility Details
Consultant Entomologist (S-3)
- Essential: 1) Doctorate degree in Entomology from a recognized University or equivalent. 2) 12 years experience in teaching and/or research in the field of Medical Entomology.
- Desirable: Training in advanced Medical Entomology/ Malariology or Filariology.
- Age: Should not be above 50 years and ready to travel extensively. If retired from Government of India, age may be below 62 years.
Consultant Entomologist (S-2)
- Essential: 1) Master degree in Zoology with Entomology of a recognized University or equivalent. 2) Seven years experience in teaching and/or research and/or control in the field of Medical Entomology or Malariology or Filariology.
- Desirable: 1) Doctorate in advanced Medical Entomology or Malariology or Filariology. 2) Training in advanced Medical Entomology/ Malariology or Filariology.
- Age: Should not be above 45 years and ready to travel extensively. If retired from Government of India, age may be below 62 years.
Consultant Entomologist (S-1)
- Essential: 1) M.Sc. degree in Zoology with Entomology of a recognized University or equivalent. 2) Three years experience in teaching and/or research and/or control in the field of Medical Entomology or Malariology or Filariology (Qualification relaxable at UPSC discretion if candidates are otherwise well qualified).
- Desirable: Training in advanced Medical Entomology/ Malariology or Filariology.
- Age: Should not be above 40 years and ready to travel extensively. If retired from Government of India, age may be below 62 years.
Application Details
- Walk-in Date: 2nd January, 2026
- Registration Time: Candidates must register between 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM sharp. Reporting after 11:00 AM will not be entertained.
- Application Method: Walk-in Interview at National Center for Vector Borne Diseases Control, 22-Sham Nath Marg, Delhi-110054 (Near Civil Line Metro Station).
- Required Documents: Resume, original certificates, one passport size photograph, and attested copies of certificates. Candidates reporting without original documents will not be entertained.
Important Conditions
- The appointment is purely on a contract basis for one year or until a regular incumbent joins.
- The contract can be terminated by either side with one month's notice or payment in lieu thereof.
- Appointees are not entitled to benefits like Provident Fund, Pension, Gratuity, or Medical Attendance Treatment available to regular Government servants.
- The appointment confers no right or claim for regular appointment.
- The appointee shall be subject to physical fitness clearance from the competent medical board.
- No TA will be provided for joining the appointment.
- If furnishing false information, the candidate will be liable for removal from service.
