Eligibility Details
The cut-off date for determining the upper age limit, qualification, and experience is 05.01.2026.
- Essential Qualification & Experience: Ex-Servicemen JCO (Subedar or higher rank) OR equivalent rank in other Para-military forces with a minimum of 10 years' experience in security.
- Experience requirement is 05 years for Short Service Commissioned Officers and incumbents holding the position of Assistant Commandant in CRPF/BSF/ITBP, etc. (carrying pre-revised pay scale of Rs. 8,000-13,500).
- For Inspector from Para-Military Forces, 10 years of experience is required.
- Age Limit & Relaxations: Not more than 35 years as of 05.01.2026. Age relaxation applies for Ex-servicemen (up to 03 years post-service deduction), SC/ST (up to 05 years), and OBC (up to 03 years). Special provisions exist for Widows, Divorced Women, and Women Judicially separated from Husbands (up to 35/40/38 years depending on category).

Mode of Selection
The selection process involves multiple stages:
- Screening: Applications will be screened based on minimum essential qualifications and experience. The Institute reserves the right to call only suitable candidates.
- Stage-I: Physical Test: Candidates qualifying the screening will be called for Physical Test (1600m Running, Long Jump, Chin Ups, Push Ups, Sit Ups).
- Stage-II: Written Examination: Candidates qualifying the Physical Test will appear for a Written Test consisting of two papers:
- Paper-I (90 min): Mental Ability and Personality Assessment Test (100 Marks, Objective, 30% threshold).
- Paper-II (2 Hours): Subjective nature, covering Comprehension, Report Writing, Security Regulations, Firefighting, and General Awareness (100 Marks, minimum 35% threshold).
- Final Merit List: Prepared based solely on performance in Paper-II.
