Eligibility Details
General Conditions: Only Indian Nationals are eligible (11.1). Minimum essential qualifications and experience are detailed in Table-II (referenced below). Candidates must ensure they fulfill criteria as on 23.12.2025 (4.2, 2.15).
Essential Qualifications & Experience Highlights (Table-II Summary)
- Chief Manager (Law) (E-5): Graduate Degree in any discipline + LLB (min 3 years professional course) with 55% marks OR 05 years Integrated LLB Degree (Professional) with 55% marks. Experience: Minimum 12 years post-qualification line experience as Law Executive or Advocate.
- Senior Officer (BIS) (E-2): Bachelor Degree in Computer Science/Information Technology with minimum 60% marks OR Bachelor Degree with min 55% + MCA with min 60%. Experience: Minimum 01 year post-qualification executive experience in BIS functions.
- Senior Engineer (Boiler Operation) (E-2): Bachelor Degree in Chemical/Mechanical/ Electrical with minimum 55% marks AND Certificate of Proficiency as Boiler Operation Engineer. Experience: Minimum 01 year post-qualification executive experience in O&M of boiler after obtaining proficiency certificate.
- Senior Engineer (Electrical) (E-2): Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering/ Electronics & Power Engineering/ Electrical & Power Engineering with minimum 60% marks. Experience: Minimum 01 year post-qualification executive experience in Project Commissioning/ Maintenance in Petrochemical Plant/Hydrocarbon Process Plant/ Fertilizer Plant etc.
- Senior Officer (Finance & Accounts) (E-2): CA/CMA (ICWA) OR B.Com (55%) + Two years MBA in Finance (60%) OR Graduation (BA/B.Sc.) Hons in Economics/Maths/Statistics (55%) + Two years MBA in Finance (60%) OR Graduate in Engineering (BE/B.Tech) (55%) + Two years MBA in Finance (60%). Experience: Minimum 01 year post-qualification executive experience in Finance/Accounts.
- Officer (Official Language) (E-1): Master Degree in Hindi / Hindi Literature (60% for OBC(NCL), 55% for PwBD). Must have English as one subject in Graduation. Experience: Minimum 02 years post-qualification executive experience in translation work (English to Hindi and vice-versa).
Age Criteria: Upper age limits are specified per post and category (e.g., OBC(NCL) - 46 years for Chief Manager Law, PwBD-OBC(NCL)-56 Years). The upper age limit is inclusive of applicable relaxations and shall be reckoned as on 23.12.2025 (4.3).
Age Relaxation: Applicable as per Government of India Directives for SC, ST, OBC (NCL) & PwBD candidates (11.8). Maximum upper age for applicants will not exceed 56 years (4.4).

- Required Documents (For verification if shortlisted): Printout of Online Application form (with 2 photos), DOB proof, Caste/Tribe/PwBD/EWS certificate (as applicable) in prescribed formats, All educational mark sheets/degrees (including proof for CGPA/OGPA conversion), and complete Experience certificate/documents (8.7).
- Hard Copy Submission: Candidates are NOT required to submit hard copy of application form or any other document to GAIL at this stage (8.6).
Important Conditions

Mode of Selection
Selection process will generally involve Group Discussion and/or Interview (10.6). Exceptions:
- Senior Officer (F&S): Physical Endurance Test (PET) and Interview.
- Senior Officer (Medical Services): Writing exercise/tool and Interview.
- Officer (Official Language): Skill Test (English to Hindi translation and vice-versa) and Interview.
Minimum qualifying marks: Interview: 60% (UR/OBC/EWS), 55% (SC/ST), 50% (PwBD). GD/Proficiency/Fitness Test: 40% (UR/OBC/EWS), 35% (SC/ST/PwBD) (10.7). For PwBD Cat B, D, E, Group Discussion will be replaced by Case Study/Writing exercise (minimum 35% marks) (10.7).
