    The esteemed National Institute of Design (NID), Assam, an Institution of National Importance under the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Govt. of India, is seeking highly accomplished and experienced individuals for various Faculty Positions (Group A Posts). Established by an Act of Parliament and operational since July 29, 2019, NID Assam is dedicated to providing cutting-edge Design Education across its academic sessions. This recruitment drive aims to appoint high-caliber faculties on a long-term basis in specific Design Disciplines, including Communication Design, Textile & Apparel Design, and Industrial Design. Selected candidates will be appointed at pay scales corresponding to the 7th Central Pay Commission Pay Matrix, offering significant gross monthly salaries. NID expects its faculty to exhibit exceptional professional competence, leadership, technological proficiency, and active participation in academic governance. Preference is also extended to Persons with Disabilities (PWD) meeting the minimum 40% disability criteria.

    Eligibility Details

    Principal Designer/Professor (FAC/26/P01)

    • Essential Qualifications: Post Graduate Degree / Post Graduate Diploma in Design from a recognized University / Reputed Institution.
    • Minimum Experience: Minimum ten years in relevant field of Design.
    • Age: Not exceeding 55 years, as on the last date of application.
    • Desirable: PhD in Design with relevant academic & design practice experience, research/industry experience, academic administration experience, and a high-calibre portfolio.

    Senior Faculty / Designer (Associate Professor) (FAC/26/P02)

    • Essential Qualifications: Post Graduate Degree / Post Graduate Diploma in Design from a recognized University / Reputed Institution.
    • Minimum Experience: Minimum ten years in relevant field of Design.
    • Age: Not exceeding 50 years, as on the last date of application.
    • Desirable: PhD in Design with relevant academic & design practice experience, research/industry experience, academic administration experience, and a high-calibre portfolio.

    Associate Senior Faculty / Designer (Assistant Professor) (FAC/26/P03)

    • Essential Qualifications: Post Graduate Degree / Post Graduate Diploma in Design from a recognized University / Reputed Institution.
    • Minimum Experience: Minimum seven years in relevant field of Design.
    • Age: Not exceeding 50 years, as on the last date of application.
    • Desirable: PhD in Design with relevant academic & design practice experience, research/industry experience, and a high-calibre portfolio.

    Faculty / Designer (FAC/26/P04)

    • Essential Qualifications: Degree / Diploma in Design from a recognized University / Reputed Institution.
    • Minimum Experience: Minimum five years in the relevant field of Design.
    • Age: Not exceeding 45 years, as on the last date of application.
    • Desirable: Post Graduate Degree / Post Graduate Diploma in Design, relevant academic/design practice experience, and a high-calibre creative portfolio.

    Note: Age limit and Experience are reckoned as on the date of closing of online application. The Institute reserves the right to relax experience and age in exceptional cases.
