    Eligibility Details

    The recruitment is strictly on a Deputation (including Short Term Contract) basis. Applicants must meet specific service and educational prerequisites.

    Service Requirements:

    • Officers must be on the regular establishment of the Central Government, State Government, UTs, Universities, Recognized Research Institutions, or Semi-Government/Statutory/Autonomous Organizations.
    • The deputation tenure is generally limited to a maximum of 5 years.
    • Officers must be holding an analogous post regularly in their parent cadre OR have served 3 years in Level 13 (Rs. 1,18,500-2,14,100).

    Educational Qualifications & Experience:

    • Essential Education: Master’s Degree in Indian History (with Ancient/Medieval History specialization) OR Master’s Degree in Archaeology/Anthropology OR Master’s Degree in Geology (with Prehistoric Archaeology specialization). Alternatively, Master’s Degree in specified Indian Languages (Sanskrit, Tamil, etc.) with Ancient/Medieval Indian History.
    • Ph.D: A mandatory Ph.D. in Indian History, Archaeology, or one of the specified languages.
    • Experience: Minimum 10 years of experience in the field of Archaeology, gained under relevant governmental or autonomous bodies. Administrative/Financial experience is excluded from this count.

    Age Limit:

    The maximum age permitted for application is 56 years as of the closing date.
