    Details of Position

    The recruitment process is for 10 vacancies across Level-2 and Level-1 grades:

    Eligibility Details

    Essential Educational Qualification (As per Para 3.0)

    • For Level-2 (Group 'C'):
      1. Passed 12th (+2 stage) or its equivalent Examination with not less than 50% marks in aggregate (50% marks relaxation for SC, ST, ESM and PwBD candidates, or those having higher qualification from UGC recognized University). OR 10th pass from Government recognized Board plus National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) / ITI approved by NCVT (Diploma in Engineering is not considered as an alternative higher qualification).
      2. Scouting/Guiding qualification as per Para 5.0.
    • For Level-1 (Group 'D'):
      1. 10th pass from Government recognised Board. OR 10th pass from Government recognized Board plus ITI/National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) approved by NCVT.
      2. Scouting/Guiding qualification as per Para 5.0.

    Scouting/Guiding Qualification (Mandatory for both Level-1 & Level-2, As per Para 5.0)

    • A President Scout/Guide/Rover/Ranger OR Himalayan Wood Badge (HWB) holder in any section.
    • Must have been an active member of Scout Organization for the last 5 years (Certificate of Activeness required as per Annexure– A).
    • Must have attended two events at National level OR All Indian Railways' level AND two events at State Level.

    Age Limit (As on 01.01.2026)

    • Level-2 (Group 'C'): UR: 18 to 30 yrs. OBC: Up to 3 yrs relaxation. SC/ST: Up to 5 yrs relaxation.
    • Level-1 (Group 'D'): UR: 18 to 33 yrs. OBC: Up to 3 yrs relaxation. SC/ST: Up to 5 yrs relaxation.

    Age relaxation is also applicable for Serving Rly. Employees, Ex-Servicemen, PwBD/Window/Divorced Women/women judicially Separated but not re-married/Course Completed Act Apprentices as detailed in Para 6.0 and 7.0.

    Opening Date of Online Applications: 29/11/2025

    Closing Date of Online Applications: 28/12/2025 at 23:59 Hrs.

    Application Method: Online via the RRC/SER website (www.rrcser.co.in).

    Examination Fee:

    • Rs. 500/- (Refundable Rs. 400/- upon appearing) for UR-Male, OBC-Male, EWS Male.
    • Rs. 250/- (Refundable Rs. 250/- upon appearing) for SC, ST, Ex-servicemen, PwBD, Women, Minorities, and Economically Backward Classes.

    Documents Required for Upload: Photograph, Signature, LTI, Self-attested certificates for Date of Birth, Education, Caste/EWS/OBC/Minority status, and Scouts & Guides achievements.

    Important Conditions

    • Candidates must apply separately for Level-1 and Level-2 posts.
    • The posts are open to all communities; no reservation is applicable against this quota.
    • The written test will be in Hindi or English and carries 60 marks (40 objective + 1 essay).
    • There will be negative marking (1/3rd of marks deducted for every wrong objective answer).
    • The final merit list will be based on the Written Test (60%) and Marks on Scouts & Guides certificates (40%).
    • Candidates must bring a valid original photo ID and 4 passport photos to the Written Test.
    • No TA/DA or accommodation will be provided for appearing in the selection process.

    Mode of Selection

    The selection involves two stages:

    1. STAGE-I: Written Test (60 Marks): Objective questions and one essay question on Scouts & Guides Organization and General Knowledge.
    2. STAGE-II: Marks on Certificates (40 Marks): Based on participation/service in National/State events, Specialized Courses, and District Rallies related to Scouting/Guiding.

    Candidates scoring minimum 40% in the Written Test, up to 5 times the vacancies in order of merit, will be called for Certificate Verification (DV).
