The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), under the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, is inviting applications to fill up 21 vacant posts of Public Prosecutor (PP) on deputation basis, including Short-Term Contract (STC). This is an excellent opportunity for experienced Law Officers from Central/State Government agencies or related organizations to serve in a crucial federal enforcement body.

Eligibility Details
Essential Eligibility Criteria for Deputation/Short Term Contract:
Officers must be Law Officers preferably from Central Government/Central Govt. agencies (like NIA, CBI, ED etc.), or Public Prosecutors of State government or UTs, or from Autonomous/Statutory Organizations or Public Sector Undertakings or recognized universities or research institutions.
Candidates must satisfy:
- (a) Holding analogous posts on a regular basis in the parent cadre/department; OR
- (ii) With two years' regular service in the grade rendered after appointment thereto on a regular basis in posts in Level-9 of the Pay Matrix or equivalent in the parent cadre or department; OR
- (iii) With four years service in the grade rendered after appointment thereto on a regular basis in posts in Level-8 of the Pay Matrix or equivalent in the parent cadre or department; AND
Educational Qualification & Experience (Essential):
- Bachelor's Degree in Law from a recognized University.
- 07 years of practice as an Advocate in conducting criminal cases.
Desirable Experience:
- 03 years experience as Advocate in conducting NDPS cases.
Other Conditions:
- Maximum age limit for appointment shall not exceed 56 years on the closing date of receipt of applications.
- Period of deputation (including STC) in another ex-cadre post shall not exceed 03 years immediately preceding this appointment.

Application Method: Applications must be forwarded through the proper channel (Parent Cadre/Department) in the revised Bio-data/C.V. proforma (attached in original advertisement) to the Dy Director General (P&A), Narcotics Control Bureau Headquarters, 2nd Floor, August Kranti Bhawan, Bhikaji Cama Place, New Delhi - 110 066.
Required Documents to be forwarded:
- Supporting certificates/documents for educational qualifications (duly attested).
- Photocopies of APARs for the last five years (duly attested).
- Integrity Certificate.
- Vigilance Clearance certificate as per proforma.
- Major/minor penalty statement for the last 10 years.
- Cadre clearance incorporating willingness to join NCB on deputation/STC if selected.
Important Conditions
- No advance applications will be entertained; applications must be routed through the proper channel.
- Candidates selected will not be allowed to withdraw candidature. Failure to join after selection will result in debarment from future deputation in NCB.
- If the vacancy is not filled by the last date, the process remains open, and applications received in May 2026 will be considered in the subsequent month, continuing until a suitable candidate is selected.
