The National Institute of Design (NID), Assam, an institution of national importance, is inviting applications for the position of Chief Administrative Officer (CAO). Eligibility Details
- Education: A degree in any discipline from a recognized institute or university. Working knowledge of computers is essential.
- Experience: Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in a Government, Educational, or Research institution. Familiarity with academic and administrative activities, preferably in design or fashion technology institutions.
- Deputation Criteria: Officers under Central/State/U.T. Government, Universities, Statutory, or Autonomous Bodies holding analogous posts or with at least three years of service in Pay Level 11 or above.
- Age: Not exceeding 56 years as on the last date of application.
Application Details
Interested candidates must complete the online application process and submit a hard copy through the proper channel. The deadline for receipt of the offline hard copy application at the institute is 2026-05-07 (up to 5 PM).
Important Conditions
- Application fee: Rs. 1000 for General/OBC; Rs. 500 for SC/ST/EWS. PwD candidates are exempted.
- Candidates in private employment are not eligible.

Mode of Selection
The institute reserves the right to conduct a presentation, group discussion, or interview (online/offline) to shortlist and select candidates. In case of an offline interview, travel expenditure for shortlisted candidates is restricted to AC II fare.
