Salary and Perks: IGIDR adheres to the pay scales established by the Seventh Pay Commission for IITs and IIMs. This includes competitive salaries, on-campus housing, leave travel concessions, medical insurance, education allowance for children, contribution towards CPF, group medical insurance, group term insurance, and group personal accident insurance. Additionally, a Professional Development Scheme (PDS) provides a three-year block research grant of INR 4 Lakhs, plus an additional INR 1 Lakh seed money.
Eligibility Details
For Assistant Professor (Regular/Contract/Visiting):
- Level and Pay Matrix: Level 12, with a minimum basic pay of INR 1,01,500/- per month, plus DA, HRA, and TRA at the prevailing rates.
- Qualification: Ph.D. degree in the appropriate specialization.
- Experience: A minimum of 3 years of post-Ph.D. Teaching/Research experience at the level of Assistant Professor or equivalent in any reputed Indian or foreign Institute/University. Due weightage will be given to candidates with demonstrated ability to source external research and consultancy grants.
- Publications: A minimum of three publications in total, with at least two in reputed peer-reviewed journals (Scopus/ABDC/ABS or equivalent ranked/indexed journals). Out of these, at least two must be in Scopus Q1 or ABDC A* / A journals.
For Contractual Appointment:
- Candidates with less than three years of post-Ph.D. research/teaching experience may be considered for appointment as Assistant Professor on a contractual basis.
- These candidates should have at least one paper published in A* / A or Scopus Q1.
- At the entry level, they may be placed with a basic pay mapped at Level 10 Cell No. 8 (INR 70,900/-). After 1 year, they shall move to Level 11 Cell No. 3 (INR 73,100/-) as per the 7th CPC.
For Visiting Fellow Position:
- Those who have submitted their Ph.D. thesis and are awaiting the award of the Ph.D. degree, or fresh Ph.D. holders may be considered for a Visiting Fellow position on a contractual basis.
- Tenure will be for a period of 1 year and extendable to a maximum period of 2 years.
- Consolidated pay will be INR 1,19,493/-.
