    Details of Position

    The recruitment is for the position of Officer Trainee (Law). The details regarding the total number of vacancies and reservation categories are as follows:

    Compensation Package During Training Period: Basic Pay of ₹ 40,000/- along with extant IDA, HRA and Perks @12% of basic pay.

    Compensation Package After Regularization (E-2 Level): Basic pay starting from ₹ 50,000/- (IDA scale: 50,000-3%-1,60,000/-).

    Approximate CTC: ₹ 11.00 lakhs per annum (During Training); ₹ 22.50 lakhs per annum (After successful completion of Training).

    Eligibility Details

    • Essential Qualification: Full-time Three years LLB or Five years integrated Law/LLB course with not less than 60% marks or equivalent CGPA as per the formula provided by the Institute/ University.
    • Age Limit: 28 years as on 05.12.2025.
    • Age Relaxation: 3 years for OBC(NCL), 5 years for SC/ST, and 10 years for UR PwBD candidates (13 years for OBC(NCL) and 15 years for SC/ST PwBD). Relaxation is also available for Victims of riots as per Govt. of India directives.
    • Marks Relaxation: Relaxation in essential qualification marks for SC/ST/PwBD candidates is relaxed to 45%.
    • Note on Qualification: Candidates must ensure that essential qualification is recognized in India from a recognized Institution or University. Percentage of marks obtained will not be rounded off.

    Application Details

    • Application Fee: ₹ 500/- (Non-refundable). SC/ST/PwBD candidates are exempted from the fee.
    • Application Method: Online mode only via the POWERGRID website (https://www.powergrid.in).
    • Application Window: Tentatively open from 14.11.2025 to 05.12.2025.
    • Prerequisite: Candidates must appear for CLAT 2026 (for admission to Post Graduation). CLAT result of 2025 or prior is not valid.
    • Required Documents for Upload: Recent photograph (.jpg), Signature (.jpg), Date of Birth Proof (.pdf), Qualification Certificate & Mark Sheets (scanned in one pdf), Caste/PwBD/Domicile certificates if applicable (.pdf).
    • Document Verification: Hard copies are NOT required to be forwarded; originals must be brought at the time of interview/document verification if called.

    Important Conditions

    • The candidature at all stages is provisional.
    • Candidates claiming OBC(NCL) reservation must possess a valid certificate based on the FY 2022-23, 2023-24, and 2024-25 income, issued on/after 01.04.2025.
    • Selected candidates must execute a service agreement bond: ₹ 5,00,000/- for General/OBC (NCL)/EWS and ₹ 2,50,000/- for SC/ST/PwBD candidates, plus applicable taxes.
    • Selected candidates must serve the organization for at least three years after successful completion of training.
    • Selected candidates are liable to be posted anywhere in India and Abroad.

    Mode of Selection

    The selection process involves:

    1. CLAT - 2026 score (for admission to Post Graduation).
    2. Behavioral Assessment (input for interview).
    3. Shortlisting based on CLAT 2026 marks.
    4. Group Discussion (GD).
    5. Personal Interview (PI).
    6. Pre-Employment Medical Examination.

    Weightage for Final Score: CLAT 2026 marks (85%), Group Discussion (3%), Personal Interview (12%). Candidates must qualify separately in CLAT 2026 and the Personal Interview.

    Qualifying Marks (if CLAT does not define): Unreserved (40% in CLAT, 40% in Interview); Reserved (30% in CLAT, 30% in Interview).
