Eligibility Details
Eligibility criteria are based on the Recruitment Rules of NITs (2019) and subsequent updates from the Ministry of Education, Govt. of India. Applicants must refer to Annexure-IA (for Junior Assistant) and the criteria on page 8 (for Senior Assistant) available on the institute website for complete details.
Junior Assistant (Direct Recruit)
- Essential Qualification: Senior secondary (10+2) from a recognized board.
- Skills Required: Minimum Typing speed of 35 w.p.m. and proficiency in Computer Word Processing and Spread Sheet.
- Desirable: Proficiency in other computer skills; stenography skills.
- Age Limit: 27 years (Relaxable for Departmental Candidates up to five years).
Senior Assistant (Direct Recruit)
- Essential Qualification: Senior secondary (10+2) from a recognized board.
- Skills Required: Minimum Typing speed of 35 w.p.m. and proficiency in Computer Word Processing and Spread Sheet.
- Desirable: Proficiency in other computer skills, stenography skills, Bachelor's degree.
- Age Limit: 33 years (Relaxable for Departmental Candidates up to five years).
Age Criteria & Relaxation: The crucial date for determining the maximum age limit is the last date of submission of online applications (14.11.2025). Age relaxation for OBC(NCL)/SC/PwD/Ex-Servicemen applicants shall be applicable as per Government of India norms, provided valid certificates are submitted in the prescribed proforma.
Application Details
Application Deadline: The last date for the receipt of the hard copy of the signed application form at SVNIT Surat is 21.11.2025.
Application Method: Candidates must apply ONLINE through the Institute website (www.svnit.ac.in) first. After successful online submission, they must download, sign, and send the hard copy along with self-attested supporting documents by Speed/Registered Post to the Registrar, Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology, Ichchhanath, Dumas Road, Surat – 395 007, Gujarat.
Required Documents (to be enclosed/produced):
- Matriculation/10th Certificate (for DOB).
- Higher Secondary/Class XII Certificate and Mark-sheet.
- UG/PG/ITI/Diploma certificate (where applicable).
- Category/Disability Certificates (SC/ST, PwD, OBC (NCL), EWS, Ex-Servicemen) in prescribed proforma, issued after 1st April, 2025 (for OBC/EWS).
- Experience Certificates (if applicable).
- No Objection Certificate/Vigilance Clearance (if currently employed).
- Photo identity card (Original).
Application Fee: A non-refundable processing fee of Rs. 500 (Rupees Five Hundred only) is required for candidates other than SC, ST, PwD, and Female candidates, subject to submission of valid certificates.
Important Conditions
- The Institute will not be responsible for any postal delay in receiving the hard copy applications. Applications received after the due date will be rejected.
- The number of posts advertised may change or remain unfilled at the discretion of the Institute.
- Experience rendered on a part-time basis, daily wages, or as visiting/guest faculty will not be counted for calculating valid experience.
