    • Post Name: Adviser (Transport & Communication)
    • Scale of Pay (7th CPC Equivalent): Level 14 of Pay Matrix (Corresponding to Rs.18,400-500-22,400/- (5th CPC)/ PB-4 Rs.37,400-67,000/- + Grade Pay Rs.10,000/- (6th CPC))
    • Job Requirement: To supervise Road and Bridge schemes/projects in the Transport and Communication Sector of NEC. To advise Secretary, NEC on all matters pertaining to Transport and Communication Sector, including Airport projects. To prepare plans and estimates and manage fund releases for schemes proposed by State Governments/NEC during the plan period. To represent NEC in relevant Boards/meetings.

    Eligibility Details

    Eligibility criteria vary based on the mode of recruitment (Deputation/Promotion/Re-employment):

    For Deputation/Promotion Officers (Central/State Govt./PSU/Autonomous Bodies):

    • Analogous Post: Holding an analogous post on a regular basis in the parent cadre/department; OR
    • Experience at Level 13A (6th CPC): With 2 (two) years' service in the grade rendered after regular appointment in posts equivalent to PB-4 Rs.37,400–67,000/- + G.P. Rs.8,900/- (Level 13A of 7th CPC); OR
    • Experience at Level-13 (6th CPC): With 3 (three) years' service in the grade rendered after regular appointment in posts equivalent to PB-4 Rs.37,400-67,000/- + G.P. Rs.8,700/- (Level-13 of 7th CPC).
    • Essential Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized University or equivalent.
    • Essential Experience: 15 (fifteen) years' experience in formulation, execution, and construction of civil works, including construction of hill roads.
    • Departmental Feeder Post Consideration: Departmental Superintending Engineer (Civil) in the scale of Rs.14,300-18,300/-(5th CPC) / PB-4 Rs.37,400-67000/- + G.P. Rs.8,700/- (6th CPC) corresponding to Level-13 of Pay Matrix with three years' regular service in the grade shall also be considered along with outsiders.

    For Armed Forces Personnel (Deputation or Re-employment):

    • Personnel of the Rank of Brigadier or equivalent who is due to retire or to be transferred to Reserve within one year, possessing the specified qualifications and experience for deputationists.

    Age Limit: The maximum age limit for appointment by deputation (including short term contract) shall not exceed 56 years as on the closing date of receipt of applications.

    Important Conditions

    • Applications must be in the prescribed format (Annexure-II), duly completed and signed, and countersigned/sealed by the Cadre/Appointing authority.
    • ACRs must be attested on each page by an officer not below the rank of Under Secretary to the Government of India or equivalent.
    • Selected candidates on deputation terms must be relieved promptly, and candidates on Re-employment terms must be eligible as per civil posts rules.
    • The tenure for deputation (including short-term contract) in another Ex-cadre post preceding this appointment shall ordinarily not exceed five years.
    • Candidates who apply cannot withdraw their candidature subsequently.
