    Eligibility Details

    The appointment is for officers under the Central Government or State Government or Union Territory Administration or Autonomous or Statutory Organization or Public Sector Undertaking or Recognized University/Institute/Research Institutions.

    Essential Criteria:

    • Qualification: Bachelor's Degree in Architecture from a recognized University or Institute.
    • Experience: One year experience in Town Planning/ Civic Designing/ Building Control Regulations.
    • Membership: Fellowship or membership of the Indian Institute of Architects.
    • Software Skills: Must have passed Certificate/Diploma Course in Auto CAD, Archi. CAD, Revit or in any other Software Application for Architectural Illustration or Architectural Rendering.

    Service/Post Requirement (Must satisfy ONE of the following):

    • Holding analogous post on regular basis in the parent cadre or department; OR
    • With five years' service rendered after appointment to the post on a regular basis in the Level-9 or Level-10 in the Pay Matrix or equivalent in the parent cadre or department; AND must satisfy all criteria listed under Essential Criteria above.

    Other Conditions:

    • Age Limit: The maximum age limit shall not be exceeding 56 years as on the closing date of receipt of applications.
    • Deputation Period Limit: Period of deputation (ISTC) ordinarily shall not exceed 4 years in total across all ex-cadre posts.

    • Application Deadline: Within 45 days from the date of publication of Vacancy Notice (i.e., 2026-03-15).

    • Required Documents (Bio-data in duplicate as per Annexure-I + following):
      • Vigilance clearance certificate.
      • Integrity certificate.
      • Statement of penalty (Major/Minor) imposed if any.
      • ACR dossier or ACRs for the last five years (attested photocopies).
    • Forwarding Authority: Applications must reach the office of the Chief Engineer, APWD, Nirman Bhawan, Sri Vijaya Puram, A&N Islands, Pin-744101.

    Important Conditions

    • Incomplete applications or applications without the complete set of essential documents listed will be rejected.
    • Candidates who apply for the post will not be allowed to withdraw their candidature subsequently.
    • The officer selected shall not be allowed to withdraw or refuse to join; the sponsoring authority is responsible for releasing the officer within a month of the appointment letter issue.
    • The officer selected on deputation has the option to either get pay fixed in the deputation post or draw pay of the parent post plus deputation allowances.

    Mode of Selection

    Selection will be based on scrutiny of qualifications, experience furnished in the Bio-Data (Annexure-I), and subsequent shortlisting/interview process as deemed necessary by the Administration.
