    Details of Position

    Applications are invited for the following Administrative Positions, all under the Un-Reserved (UR) Category, Scale of Pay Level - 12 (Initial Basic Pay Rs. 78,800/-):

    • Post 1: Deputy General Manager (Placement & Career Services)
      Number of Posts: 1 (one)
      Qualification: MBA from a recognized University or Master of Communication with at least 60% marks.
      Experience Required: Corporate: 12 plus years interacting with multiple clients and successful business/sales deals. Desirable: Team Handling experience and experience leading placement/career management services in top Management Institutions in India for a continuous 3 years period.
      Age Limit: 50 years as on the last date of Publication of the Advertisement.
    • Post 2: Deputy General Manager (Alumni Relations)
      Number of Posts: 1 (one)
      Qualification: Master's Degree with at least 60% marks preferably in Business Administration/Communications/Public Relations or related areas.
      Experience Required: Minimum 12 years of overall work experience in reputed Academic Institution/ corporate with at least 5 years in alumni engagement, programme development, stakeholder engagement, client servicing, financial aid initiatives, community building, CSR, or a related field.
      Age Limit: 50 years as on the last date of Publication of the Advertisement.

    Eligibility Details

    General Requirements:

    • Qualification: Specific qualifications are detailed above for each post (MBA/Master of Communication for DGM P&CS; Master's in Management/Communications/PR for DGM AR).
    • Experience: Minimum 12 years of overall experience required for DGM AR, and 12+ years for DGM P&CS, with specific functional experience required in top management institutions or corporate settings as noted above.
    • Age Limit: Maximum 50 years as on the last date of Publication of the Advertisement. Age relaxation is applicable for SC/ST/PwD (up to 5 years) and NC-OBC candidates (up to 3 years).
    • The Institute reserves the right to relax age, qualification, and experience criteria in exceptional and deserving cases.

    Application Details

    Application Deadline: The last date for submission of the Online Application is 31 December 2025.

    Application Method: Candidates must apply Online through the Recruitment Portal on the Institute website (https://www.iimshillong.ac.in/careers/). Only applications submitted online, followed by the submission of documents by post, will be considered for scrutiny.

    Document Submission by Post: Candidates must print the Online Application Form, sign it, and forward it along with self-attested copies of the following documents to reach IIM Shillong on or before 07 January 2026:

    • Payment Receipt (Exempted for Women Candidates and PwD).
    • Proof of Date of Birth.
    • Caste Certificate (if applicable).
    • Educational Qualification Certificates and Mark Sheets.
    • Experience Certificates.
    • One recent passport size photograph with Full Name written on the back.

    Application Fee:

    • General candidates: Rs. 400/- (including GST).
    • SC/ST and OBC candidates: Rs. 200/- (including GST).
    • Women Candidates and Person with Disabilities are exempted from the application fee.

    Important Conditions

    • Mere fulfillment of minimum eligibility criteria does not guarantee shortlisting or selection.
    • The Screening Committee may adopt additional criteria for shortlisting candidates.
    • Shortlisted candidates will be communicated regarding interview schedules via Email only.
    • Canvassing in any form will lead to immediate disqualification.
    • Candidates already in Government Service must apply through proper channels or submit an NOC during the interview.
    • Application fees are non-refundable.

    Mode of Selection

    Shortlisted candidates will be called for an Interview based on the recommendations of the Screening Committee. The decision of the Screening Committee regarding selection is final.
