    Details of Position

    The advertisement indicates a single combined post designation, thus a list format is used:

    • Position: Director & Senior Professor
    • Pay Scale: Level 14 – As per 7th CPC plus allowances admissible to Central Government employees stationed at Mumbai.

    Eligibility Details

    A. Essential Qualifications:

    • M.A./M.Sc. Degree in Demography or Statistics or Economics or Mathematics or Sociology with specialization in Statistics.
    • Post-Graduate training in Demography from an Institute of repute in Indian or Foreign University.
    • At least 10 years of experience in Demographic research, out of which at least 5 years must be teaching experience in a Research Centre, University, or Government Department in a capacity equivalent to Professor's rank.
    • Minimum 3 years of administrative experience in any teaching and/or research institute, university, or government department.

    B. Desirable Qualifications:

    • Doctorate degree in Demography.
    • Research publications of a high standard in the field of Demography, Population Studies, Economics, and/or Statistics.

    Age Criteria:

    Maximum age is 50 years as on the last date of the advertisement. Age relaxation may be granted at the discretion of the Executive Council in suitable/deserving cases.

    Required Documents (For In-Service Candidates):

    • Prescribed application form (Annexure-I).
    • Integrity Certificate (Original) (Annexure – II).
    • List of major/minor penalties imposed during the last 10 years, or “NIL” certificate (Original) (Annexure – III).
    • Vigilance Certificate (Original) (Annexure – IV).
    • Attested photocopies of APARs/ACRs for the last five years (Annexure – V).
    • Recent CV (Annexure-VI).
    • Government/PSU employees must submit via the proper channel along with APARs of the last five years, Integrity Certificate, and Vigilance Certificate.

    Important Conditions

    • The recruitment will initially be for two years (considering the applicant's lien) and extendable for one year in exceptional cases.
    • Each page of the application must be attested by an officer not below the rank of an Under Secretary to the Govt. of India.
    • If APARs/ACRs are maintained in Grade Point, they must be submitted in Grade (year wise) format (e.g., Outstanding, Very Good, etc.).
    • Merely meeting the qualification will not entitle a candidate to be called for an interview/discussion.
