    Eligibility Details

    For Direct Recruitment:

    Age Limit: Not exceeding 45 years as of the closing date (12.01.2026).

    Educational Qualification & Experience:

    • Essential Qualification (i): Graduate in Science/Library Science.
    • Essential Qualification (ii): Postgraduate qualification in Library Science/Library and Information Science from a recognized University/Institute with at least 55% marks in both graduation and post-graduation. The qualification must have been achieved as a regular course.
    • Essential Experience (iii): Five years' professional experience at Level 12 as per 7th CPC or analogous post in a library under Central/State Government/Autonomous or Statutory organisation/PSU/University or recognized research or educational institution.
    • Desirable Experience: Proficiency in computer applications and language, information technology and system analysis, communications, ability to develop secure business and communication practices. Experience in computer-mediated Library and Information Science management, data storage/retrieval/Indexing/Cataloguing/Search Bibliography/Informatics.

    For Deputation:

    Same as Direct Recruitment.

    Application Window: The application form can be downloaded from the Bose Institute website from 7:00 AM (IST) on 13.12.2025 until 5:00 PM (IST) on 12.01.2026.

    Submission Method:

    1. Candidates must complete the form fully and email a scanned copy as a single PDF document (maximum 5 MB) containing the filled application, supporting documents, testimonials, and valid community certificates (if applicable) to librarian_recruitment@jcbose.ac.in by 6:15 PM (IST) on 12.01.2026.
    2. Subsequently, a hard copy must be sent by post to: The Director, Bose Institute, Unified Academic Campus, EN 80, Sector V, Salt Lake, Kolkata - 700091, W.B. (India).

    Note for In-Service Candidates: Candidates currently employed in Government/PSU/Autonomous bodies must route their applications through the proper channel. An advance copy via email is allowed for provisional consideration, but appearance for the interview is subject to receiving the forwarded application, accompanied by a No Objection Certificate (NOC) and Vigilance Clearance Certificate (VCC).

    Extended Deadline for Remote Areas: Candidates from specific remote areas (including Assam, Meghalaya, Tripura, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, etc.) have an extended deadline of 27.01.2026 for receiving the proper channel application.

    Important Conditions

    • The candidate must be a citizen of India.
    • Eligibility criteria, including the upper age limit, will be assessed as of the closing date for application submission (12.01.2026).
    • Incomplete applications, those lacking mandatory documents (like signature, photograph, self-attested copies), or those not routed through the proper channel (where applicable) will be summarily rejected.
    • Reservation policies for SC/ST/OBC categories will apply as per DoPT norms. OBC candidates must explicitly state non-belonging to the Creamy Layer.
