Eligibility Details
1. Library & Information Officer (Level – 11):
- Essential: Master's Degree in Library Science or Library and Information Science. Five years' professional experience in a Library at pay level 10 or above in relevant government/autonomous/PSU/Research/Educational Institutions.
- Age Limit: Not exceeding 40 years.
2. Assistant Editor (Level – 10, Deputation):
- Essential: Master's Degree in Journalism/Communication/ Social Science/ Literature. Five years experience in editing, production, and publication of books/journals in relevant organizations with a minimum annual turnover of at least Rs. 200 Crores or more.
- Age Limit: Not exceeding 56 years.
3. Assistant Registrar (Level – 10):
- Essential: Master's Degree with at least 55% marks or equivalent grade.
- Desirable: Three Years' Experience as Section Officer in Level 7 or above in Central/State Govt./University/PSU.
- Age Limit: Not exceeding 40 years.
4. Section Officer (Level – 7):
- Essential: Bachelor's Degree in any discipline. Three Years' Experience as Assistant (Level 6) or eight years as UDC (Level 4) in relevant institutions or equivalent positions in reputed private companies (turnover Rs. 200 Cr+). Proficiency in Computer Operation, noting, and drafting.
- Age Limit: Not exceeding 35 years.
5. Senior Research Assistant (Level -6):
- Essential: Master's degree in Social Sciences (Mass Communication, Sociology, Anthropology, Psychology). Three years research experience in Mass Communication/ Social Sciences or allied field in relevant institutions.
- Age Limit: Not exceeding 40 years.
6. Assistant (Level – 6):
- Essential: Bachelor Degree. Three Years of experience as UDC (Level 4) or equivalent in relevant institutions or reputed private companies/banks (turnover Rs. 200 Cr+). Proficiency in Typing, Computer applications, noting, and drafting.
- Age Limit: Not exceeding 35 years.
7. Professional Assistant (Level – 6):
- Essential: Master's Degree in Library & Information Science with 02 years experience OR Bachelor's Degree in Library/Library and Information Science with 03 years experience in the relevant field in relevant institutions. Knowledge of Computer Applications.
- Age Limit: Not exceeding 35 years.
8. Junior Programmer (Level- 6):
- Essential: B.E./B.Tech. in Computer Science & Engineering/Electronics Engineering OR M.C.A./M.Sc. in Computer Science. 02 years programming experience (C/C++/JAVA, MySQL/ORACLE with PHP) on WINDOWS/LINUX/UNIX platforms in relevant organizations (turnover Rs. 200 crore+).
- Age Limit: Not exceeding 35 years.
9. Upper Division Clerk (Level – 4):
- Essential: Bachelor's Degree. Two years experience as LDC/Equivalent in relevant institutions or reputed private companies/banks (turnover Rs. 200 Cr+). Speed in English Typing @ 35 wpm OR Hindi Typing @ 30 wpm. Proficiency in Computer Operations.
- Age Limit: Not exceeding 32 years.
10. Stenographer (Level - 4):
- Essential: Bachelor's Degree in any discipline. Proficiency in Stenography (English or Hindi) @ 80wpm. Proficiency in Typing (English 35 wpm / Hindi 30 wpm). Knowledge of Computer Applications.
- Age Limit: Not exceeding 32 years.
Note: Age criteria may apply as per policy for all posts, and age limits stated above are upper limits calculated as of the closing date of receipt of applications (12.01.2026), with relaxation permissible for reserved categories as per Govt. of India's instructions.

Application Method: Only online applications will be accepted. The hard copy of the online application form, along with all self-attested testimonials, certificates/educational qualifications, and supporting documents, must be submitted.
Fee Payment: A Demand Draft (DD) as per the prescribed fee must be drawn in favor of the Indian Institute of Mass Communication payable at New Delhi and sent with the hard copy.

Important Conditions
- Candidates must possess the prescribed qualifications, experience, and eligibility criteria as on the closing date of applications.
- Suppression of factual information or providing false documents will lead to immediate disqualification, even post-appointment.
- Candidates must bring all original certificates for verification during tests/interviews. Failure to produce them may lead to cancellation of candidature.
- The selected candidates are liable to serve anywhere in India within the jurisdiction of IIMC centers (Delhi, Amravati, Dhenkanal, Aizwal, Kottayam, Jammu) or any other places within India.
- No TA/DA shall be paid for attending Written Test/Skill Test/ Interview.
- The Institute reserves the right to withdraw the advertisement or increase/decrease the number of vacancies.
- In case of deputation posts, the initial period is 03 years, extendable, and the maximum age should not exceed 56 years on the last date of receipt of application.
Mode of Selection
- Selection for all Group 'A' posts will be based on written test, Skill Test followed by interview.
- Selection for Group ‘B' and Group ‘C' posts will be based on written test, followed by skill test.
- The appointment for Assistant Registrar (Direct Recruitment) shall be made through an All India open competition by conducting a written test and interview.
