Eligibility Details
Essential Educational Qualification:
- Computer Science & Engineering: B.E/B.Tech in Computer Science Engg in 1st Division with valid NET/GATE qualification OR M.E/M.Tech in Computer Science Engg in 1st Division both at Graduate* and Post Graduate level.
- Mechanical Engineering: BE/B.Tech in Mechanical Engg in 1st Division with valid NET/GATE qualification OR ME/M.Tech in Mechanical Engg in 1st Division both at Graduate and Post Graduate level.
- Chemical Engineering/ Rubber Technology/ Polymer Technology/ Nanotechnology/ Materials Science: BE/B.Tech in Chemical Engineering/ Rubber Technology/ Polymer Technology/ Nanotechnology/ Materials Science in 1st Division with valid NET/GATE qualification OR ME/M.Tech in Chemical Engineering/ Rubber Technology/ Polymer Technology/ Nanotechnology/ Materials Science in 1st Division both at Graduate* and Post Graduate level.
- Opto Electronics: BE/B.Tech in Opto Electronics in 1st Division with valid NET/GATE qualification OR ME/M.Tech in Opto Electronics in 1st Division both at Graduate and Post Graduate level.
- Electrical & Electronics Engineering/ Electronics & Communication Engineering/ Instrumentation Engineering: BE/B.Tech in Electrical & Electronics Engg/ Electronics & Communication Engg (with at least one paper on Fibre Optics/ Optoelectronics/ Laser Technologies) in 1st Division with valid NET/GATE qualification OR BE/B.Tech in Electrical & Electronics Engg/ Electronics & Communication Engg/ Instrumentation Engineering in 1st Division with valid NET/GATE qualification OR ME/M.Tech in Electrical & Electronics Engg/ Electronics & Communication Engg/ Instrumentation Engineering in 1st Division both at Graduate* and Post Graduate level.
- Physics: Post Graduate Degree in Basic Science pertaining to the subject/discipline in 1st Division with valid NET qualification.
- Oceanography/ Ocean Technology/ Meteorology: Post Graduate Degree in Basic Science pertaining to the subject/discipline in 1st Division with valid NET qualification OR ME/M.Tech in Oceanography/ Ocean Technology/ Meteorology in 1st Division both at Graduate* and Post Graduate level.
Note:
- The equivalent acceptable subjects/disciplines of essential educational qualification shall be as per RAC, DRDO norms.
- For the above purpose, NET shall also include other relevant national level fellowships awarded by Central Government Departments/Agencies.
- The decision of Director, NPOL as to educational qualification(s) prescribed, its equivalence and relevance to the Laboratory shall be final.
Age Limit: Upper Age Limit: 28 years as on the date of walk-in interview. The upper age limit shall be relaxable to the candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and OBC as per Government of India norms.
General Conditions:
- Only candidates possessing the above mentioned qualification(s) need apply.
- All the qualifications acquired should be from recognized Universities/Institutions.
- NET/GATE qualification wherever prescribed should be valid as on the date of walk-in interview.
- Candidates working in Government/Public sector undertaking/ autonomous bodies should apply through proper channel.

How to apply: Interested candidates may appear for a Walk-in Interview on the above mentioned date & time at Bhavan's Varuna Vidyalaya in the campus of NAVAL PHYSICAL & OCEANOGRAPHIC LABORATORY, THRIKKAKARA P.O., KOCHI 682021. They are required to produce all certificates/testimonials/Community certificate/valid GATE/NET Score card etc. in original at the time of Interview. They must also bring a set of self attested copies of all their testimonials/certificates and an ID proof (Voter's ID/ Aadhaar card/PAN card/Driving License) in original along with one recent colour passport size photograph at the time of interview.

Important Conditions
- A panel for the vacancies available and future vacancies will be drawn and will operate for a period of one year.
- Empanelment does not guarantee an offer of Fellowship, which is contingent upon occurrence of vacancies.
- Director, NPOL reserves the right not to select any candidate if suitable candidates are not available.
- The Fellowships shall be awarded initially for a period of two years (extendable as per rules).
- Monthly emoluments of Rs.37000/- plus House Rent Allowance as admissible under the rules.
- Any additional information/amendments will be updated only on DRDO website (www.drdo.gov.in).
- Hindi version of the advertisement is available on DRDO website; English version will prevail in case of ambiguity.
- Offer of Fellowship does not confer any right for absorption in DRDO.
