  • Professor: MD in Emergency Medicine/ MD in Medicine/ MS in General Surgery
  • Assistant Professor: MD in Emergency Medicine/ MS in General Surgery / Trauma Surgery OR MS in Orthopaedics/ MD in Paediatrics

Eligibility Details

Qualifications and experience vary significantly based on the specific post (Professor, Additional Professor, Associate Professor, Assistant Professor) and whether the candidate is Medical or Non-medical.

Essential for Medical Candidates:

  • General Discipline Qualification: A medical Qualification included in the I or II schedule or part II of the third schedule to the Indian Medical Council Act of 1956, plus a postgraduate qualification (e.g., MD/MS or recognized equivalent) AND/OR M.Ch. or D.M. (2/3/5 years recognized course) or recognized equivalent.
  • Professor Experience: Fourteen years teaching and/or research experience in a recognized institution in the subject of specialty after obtaining the qualifying degree of M.D./M.S. (or equivalent). OR Twelve years teaching/research experience after obtaining M.Ch./D.M. (2/5 years course post-MBBS), OR Eleven years experience for candidates with a 3 years recognized D.M/M.Ch.
  • Additional Professor Experience (General): Ten years teaching/research experience after obtaining M.D./M.S. (or equivalent).
  • Additional Professor Experience (Superspecialist): Eight years teaching/research experience after obtaining D.M./M.Ch. (2/5 years course post-MBBS), OR Seven years experience for candidates with a 3 years recognized D.M. / M.Ch.
  • Associate Professor Experience (General): Six years teaching/research experience after obtaining M.D./M.S. (or equivalent).
  • Associate Professor Experience (Superspecialist): Four years teaching/research experience after obtaining D.M./M.Ch. (2/5 years course post-MBBS), OR Three years experience for candidates with a 3 years recognized D.M. / M.Ch.
  • Assistant Professor Experience (General): Three years teaching/research experience after obtaining M.D./M.S. or recognized equivalent.
  • Assistant Professor Experience (Superspecialist): One year teaching/research experience after obtaining D.M./M.Ch. (2/5 years course post-MBBS), unless possessing a 3 years recognized D.M/M.Ch., in which case no experience is necessary.

Essential for Non-medical Candidates:

  • Qualification: Postgraduate qualification (e.g., Master's degree) in the discipline/allied subject AND a Doctorate degree from a recognized University.
  • Professor Experience: Fourteen years teaching/research experience after obtaining the Doctorate degree.
  • Additional Professor Experience: Ten years teaching/research experience after obtaining the Doctorate degree.
  • Associate Professor Experience: Six years teaching/research experience after obtaining the Doctorate degree.
  • Assistant Professor Experience: Three years teaching/research experience after obtaining the Doctorate degree.

Special Note for Biostatistics Assistant Professor (Non-medical): Requires Master's Degree in Statistics/Biostatistics, a Doctorate Degree, and Three years of teaching/research experience post-Doctorate.

Age Limit & Age Relaxation:

  • Professor/Additional Professor: Not exceeding 58 years as on closing date of online application.
  • Associate Professor: Not exceeding 50 years as on closing date of online application.
  • Assistant Professor: Not exceeding 50 years as on closing date of online application.

Age Relaxation: 10 years for PwBD; 5 years for SC/ST; 3 years for OBC. No relaxation for UR vacancies.

Required Documents for Hard Copy Submission (Single PDF): Application downloaded copy, Brief of the candidate (Annexure – I), Filled Power Point Presentation (Annexure – II), Educational Certificates (SSC (X) to Post Graduate), Experience Certificates, NOC (if applicable), Registration Certificates (UG & PG), and Best 5 Publications.

Application Fees (Total = Application Fee + Processing Fee):

  • UR/EWS/OBC: Rs. 3,100 (Rs. 3,000 + Rs. 100)
  • SC/ST/WOMEN: Rs. 2,100 (Rs. 2,000 + Rs. 100)
  • PwBD: Exempted (Rs. 100 Processing Fee only)

Fee once remitted shall not be refunded under any circumstances.

Important Conditions

  • Vacancies are provisional and subject to variation.
  • Hard copies must reach the Institute within 10 days from the online closing date, failing which candidature will not be considered.
  • Candidates applying for multiple posts must apply separately for each post, including fees.
  • The appointee shall be on whole-time appointment and cannot engage in private practice.
