Eligibility Details

Essential Qualifications:
A Master's degree from a recognized University is required. The degree must be in Hindi with English as a compulsory or elective subject, or English with Hindi as a compulsory or elective subject, or in any other subject with Hindi medium and English as a compulsory or elective subject, or with English medium and Hindi as a compulsory or elective subject. Additionally, a recognized Diploma or Certificate course in Translation from Hindi to English and vice-versa, or two years of experience in translation work in a Central or State Government office is also required.
Age Limit: 18 to 35 years as on 13.10.2025. Age relaxation applicable for Ex-Servicemen, PwBD, serving Government employees, Widows, Divorced women, etc., as per Government of India orders.

Method: Online applications only. Interested candidates can apply through the official recruitment portal of SAC/ISRO.
Application Fee: Rs. 750/- (excluding applicable taxes/charges). Fee-exempted categories (Women, SC, ST, Ex-servicemen, PwBD) will be refunded the full fee. Other candidates will be refunded Rs. 500/-.
Required Documents: Candidates need to upload scanned copies of Photograph, Signature, Educational Qualification Certificates, Caste Certificate (if applicable), Discharge Certificate/NOC (for Ex-servicemen), Disability Certificate (for PwBD), Income and Asset Certificate (for EWS), etc. in PDF format not exceeding 1MB.

Mode of Selection

The selection process involves two stages:
1. Written Test: This will be a pen-paper based or computer-based examination consisting of Part-A (Objective type questions - 50 marks) and Part-B (Descriptive type questions - 50 marks). A minimum of 60% marks are required to qualify. Candidates securing minimum 60% marks will be shortlisted in a 1:5 ratio (minimum 10 candidates) for the skill test.
2. Skill Test: This is a 'go-no-go' basis test. It consists of precis writing (2 passages of 20 marks each) and translation (2 passages from Hindi to English and vice-versa, 30 marks each). A minimum of 60% marks are required to qualify in the skill test. The final selection will be based purely on the marks obtained in the written test among those who qualify in the skill test.
