Details of Position
The recruitment notice specifies the following vacancy details:
- Position: Associate Professor (1 Unreserved, 1 ST)
- Preference: Preference will be given to those who can teach at the Master's and PhD levels, as well as supervise doctoral research scholars, and who can work in a multicultural research environment.
- Joining Date: Selected candidates are expected to join duty by the last week of June 2026.
Eligibility Details
Educational Qualifications
- PhD (awarded) in Economics/ Statistics/ Demography or any Social Science subjects, who work in issues related to development.
- A Master's Degree with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point-scale, wherever the grading system is followed). A relaxation of 5% (i.e. from 55% to 50% marks at the Master's level) is allowed for the reserved category.
Years of Experience
- A minimum of eight years of experience of teaching and / or research in an academic/research position equivalent to that of Assistant Professor in a University, College or Accredited Research Institution/industry.
- A minimum of seven publications in the peer-reviewed or UGC-listed journals.

Important Conditions
- Only Indian nationals need to apply. Applications from Indian nationals abroad will also be considered.
- Applicants serving in Government/Public Sector Undertakings must submit a 'No Objection Certificate' and Vigilance Clearance at the time of interview, if not uploaded during application.
- No TA/DA shall be paid to candidates for attending the Presentation and Interview.

- The Centre reserves the right to keep the post vacant or shortlist candidates based on its discretion.
