    Eligibility Details

    Candidates must satisfy general essential qualifications (Points I-III) and specific essential qualifications/experience (Point IV) mentioned below:

    • General Qualification (I & II): A medical qualification included in the first/second schedule or part II of the third schedule of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956, fulfilling sub-section (3) of Section 13. Postgraduate qualification recognized by NMC or equivalent (like DNB/DrNB) is required.
    • Experience (III.a): Teaching and research experience required post-MD/MS/DNB degree for Assistant Professor (03 years), Associate Professor (06 years), Additional Professor (09 years), and Professor (13 years). Alternatively, experience post DM/M.Ch/DrNB is 0, 3, 6, and 10 years respectively.
    • Additional Requirements (III.b): Professors must have published at least four research publications; Additional Professors and Associate Professors must have published at least two research publications after their respective appointments. All faculty must complete the Basic Course in Biomedical Research (BCBR).
    • Specific Qualifications: Detailed essential qualifications vary significantly by department (e.g., DM/DNB/DrNB in the specialty, or specific years of experience/fellowship/training). For example, Cardiology requires DM/DNB/DrNB (Cardiology).
    • Age Criteria: Upper age limit is 50 years as on 28/02/2026, with relaxations applicable for SC/ST (05 years) and OBC (03 years).
