Pay Scale: Pay Matrix Level-15 (Rs. 1,82,200-2,24,100/-), Total emoluments starting at approximately Rs. 3,65,288/-.

Details of Position
The post of Director General is for direct recruitment with a maximum tenure of five (05) years or until attaining the age of superannuation (60 years), whichever is earlier.

Duties & Responsibilities:
As the Principal Executive Officer, the Director General is responsible for overall planning and coordination of activities across all NCSM national level museums/centres/laboratories, ensuring effective implementation of policies devised by the Governing Body, and acting as the Chief Executive Officer of the Society.
Eligibility Details
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
- 1st class Master's Degree in Science OR 1st class Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Technology OR Ph.D in Science or Engineering.
- 20 years of relevant experience in areas including design/development of interactive exhibits, portrayal of science/technology growth, popularization activities (exhibitions, seminars), supplementing out-of-school education, and conducting relevant research.
Age Limit:
- The upper age limit is 55 years as on the last date of application submission.
- Relaxation up to 3 years is allowed for departmental scientific category officers (i.e. Curators of NCSM).
Desirable Criteria:
- Proven record of excellent scientific/technological contributions in developing science museums/centres and science communication activities.
- Demonstrated leadership in advancing science communication & museum development.
