    Details of Position

    Eligibility Details

    Essential Qualification & Experience (Pay Matrix Level-6 for JHT A0126)

    Candidates must satisfy either of the following:

    • (1) Master's degree of a recognized University or equivalent in Hindi or English with English or Hindi as a compulsory or elective subject or as a medium of examination at the degree level; OR Master's degree of a recognized University or equivalent in any subject other than Hindi or English, with Hindi or English medium and English or Hindi as a compulsory or elective subject or as a medium of examination at the degree level; OR Master's degree of a recognized University or equivalent in any subject other than Hindi or English, with Hindi and English as compulsory or elective subjects of either or the two as the medium of examination and the other as a compulsory or elective subject at degree level; AND (2) Recognized Diploma or Certificate course in translation from Hindi to English & vice versa or two years' experience of translation work from Hindi to English and vice-versa in Central or State government offices including Government of India undertakings.

    Desirable Qualification

    • Knowledge at the level of Matriculation of a recognized Board or equivalent of one of the languages other than Hindi mentioned in the Eighth Schedule of the Constitution.
    • Degree or Diploma in translation from Hindi to English and vice-versa from a recognized University.

    Age Criteria

    Upper Age Limit not exceeding 30 Years (for UR candidates) as on the last date of submission of online Application (20.02.2026).

    The cut-off date for determining the upper age limit, qualification and/or experience shall be the closing date prescribed for submission of ONLINE applications.

    Application Details

    Application Method: Online application followed by dispatch of a Hard Copy.

    1. Eligible candidates must fill the prescribed application form ONLINE by accessing the website https://recruitment.cimap.res.in.
    2. The online process involves Registration, Fee Submission, and Application Submission.
    3. Application Fee: ₹500/- Non-refundable. SC / ST / PwBD / Women / CSIR Employees / Ex-Servicemen are exempted from payment of application fee.
    4. Hard Copy Dispatch: The printout of the application, generated after online submission, duly accompanied by self-attested copies of requisite certificates/mark sheets (DOB, educational qualification, experience, community certificate if any), must reach the "Controller of Administration, CSIR-Central Institute of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants, Post Office-CIMAP, Lucknow-226015" on or before 06.03.2026 by speed post/registered post.
    5. The envelope must be super scribed: "Application for the post of JUNIOR HINDI TRANSLATOR (Post code A0126 Advt.No.1/2026)".

    Important Conditions

    • The applicant must be a citizen of India.
    • The number of vacancies is provisional and subject to change.
    • Prescribed educational qualifications must be obtained from a recognized University/Institution, with final results declared on or before the last date of application (20.02.2026).
    • Age/experience is determined as on the closing date for online application (20.02.2026).
    • Each printed page of the application form and enclosed documents must be self-attested by the candidate.
    • Non-submission or non-receipt of the Hard Copy within the stipulated time will result in the cancellation of candidature.

    Mode of Selection

    Selection will be made on the basis of an open written competitive examination consisting of two papers (Paper-I: Objective, Paper-II: Descriptive/Translation Skills). The Final Merit list will be prepared only on the basis of the marks obtained by the candidates in PAPER-II, provided they secure the minimum threshold marks in Paper-I.
