    Eligibility Details

    The essential qualifications mentioned are minimum requirements. Candidates should mention all qualifications and experience over and above the minimum prescribed, supported by documents from the 10th standard onwards.

    • Junior Hindi Translator (JHT-01):
      (1) Master's degree in Hindi or English with English or Hindi as a compulsory/elective subject or as a medium of examination at the degree level; OR Master's degree in any other subject with Hindi/English medium AND English/Hindi as compulsory/elective subject or medium of examination at degree level; OR Master's degree in any other subject with Hindi AND English as compulsory/elective subjects/medium.
      AND
      (2) Recognized Diploma or Certificate course in translation from Hindi to English & vice versa OR two years' experience of translation work from Hindi to English and vice-versa in Central or State government offices, including Government of India undertaking.
    • Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS-01):
      Matriculation (10th) or equivalent pass.
      Desirable Qualification: Intermediate (12th Class) Pass and Experience in the relevant area of work.

    Age Criteria: The age limit is determined as of the last date of online application submission (19.02.2026). Minimum age is 18 years. Since these posts are Unreserved (UR), age relaxation for SC/ST/OBC candidates is not applicable for the upper age limit.

    Application Details

    • Deadline: 19.02.2026 (Till 23.59 Hrs)
    • Method: Online application only via the access link provided on the CSIR-AMPRI website: https://ampri.res.in.
    • Application Fee: Rs. 500/- for General candidates. No fee for SC/ST/PwBD/Women/Ex-Servicemen (subject to uploading relevant document). Fees are non-refundable.
    • Required Documents to Upload: Recent Passport size Photograph, Signature, relevant certificates (Educational, Experience, NOC if applicable, Caste/Disability Certificate in Gol format if claiming reservation/relaxation on other grounds).

    Important Conditions

    • The selection of candidates will be based on documents and information provided in the online application. False information can lead to cancellation of candidature even after selection.
    • Candidates must ensure they meet all essential qualifications as of the last date of submission.
    • NOC must be uploaded by candidates working in CSIR/Govt. organizations.
    • Only one application per postcode is accepted.
    • No separate call letters will be mailed; all communications will be via email.

    Mode of Selection

    For Junior Hindi Translator (JHT): Selection is based on an open written competitive examination consisting of Paper-I (Objective, OMR/Computer Based, 150 marks, 1 hour) and Paper-II (Descriptive/Translation/Writing, 300 marks, 2 hours). The Final merit list will be prepared based only on marks obtained in Paper-II, provided the candidate secures minimum qualifying marks in Paper-I (to be determined by the selection committee).

    For Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS): Candidates will first be called for a Trade Test (Skill Test) based on eligibility criteria recommended by the Screening Committee. Those qualifying the Trade Test will be eligible to take the Competitive Written Examination (CWE) (150 questions, 2 hours). The Final merit list will be prepared based on the performance in the CWE.
