Venue of Selections: Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad, Kandi, Sangareddy, Telangana – 502284.
Application Fee: A non-refundable fee of Rs. 500/- (Rupees Five Hundred only) is payable. Candidates belonging to PwBD, Ex-Servicemen, and Women categories are exempted from fee payment.
Eligibility Details
Essential Qualifications:
- Minimum 55% marks in the Master of Philosophy (M.Phil) in Clinical Psychology with 1 year of relevant experience after the M.Phil degree. OR Minimum 55% Marks in MA/MSc Degree in Clinical Psychology or Counselling Psychology with 2 years of relevant experience after Masters Degree.
- Experience in counselling adolescents or young adults in higher education institutions and/or mental health establishments.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Administrative experience in establishing and managing Counseling services, document keeping, & MS Office.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Experience conducting workshops/knowledge-based sessions.
Age Criteria:
Upper age limit is 40 years as of the cutoff date (27.03.2026).
- OBC-NCL: 3 years relaxation.
- OBC-NCL & PwBD (40% disability): 13 years relaxation, subject to a maximum age not exceeding 56 years.
- Ex-servicemen & Employees of IIT Hyderabad: As per Government/Institute norms.
Note: Relevant experience includes psychological counselling experience (individual and group) for adolescents and young adults in a mental health clinic or higher educational institution.

Mode of Selection
Selection is based on a combined performance:
- Screening Written Test: Based on merit/performance (40% weightage in final selection). Syllabus covers Psychology Theories, Psychopathology, Therapies, English Proficiency, Computer Aptitude, and Research Aptitude.
- Document Verification: Mandatory verification of all required proofs.
- Interview: Candidates qualifying Document Verification proceed to the Interview (60% weightage in final selection). The final merit list is prepared based on the combined score (40% Written + 60% Interview).
