Job Summary

Eligibility Details
Eligibility Criteria for Deputation:
Officers of the Central Government or the State Government or Union Territories are eligible to apply for deputation.
Minimum Requirements:
- A. Tenure/Post Held: Must be holding one of the following:
- Analogous post on a regular basis in the parent cadre or department; OR
- With five years' service rendered after appointment to the post on a regular basis in Level-12 in the pay matrix (Rs.78800-209200) or equivalent in the parent cadre or department.
- B. Educational Qualification & Experience (Essential):
- Bachelor's degree from a recognized University or institution.
- Ten years' experience in the enforcement of regulatory laws and collection of intelligence relating thereto.
- C. Desirable Experience:
- Four years' experience in the investigation of criminal offences including economic offences.
Age Limit:
The age limit for appointment by transfer on deputation shall not exceed fifty-six years on the closing date of receipt of applications.
Period of Deputation:
Period of deputation, including preceding ex-cadre service, shall ordinarily not exceed 05 (five) years.
Application Details
Application Deadline: Within eight weeks from the date of issue of the circular (i.e., 11 April 2026).
Application Method: Applications must be obtained in the revised Bio-data/C.V. proforma (format attached in original circular) and forwarded to the Dy Director General (P&A), Narcotics Control Bureau Headquarters, New Delhi.
Required Documents to be forwarded along with Application:
- Supporting certificate/documents in respect of claimed educational qualification (duly attested).
- Photo copies of APARs for the last five years duly attested (with stamp) on each page by an officer not below the rank of Under Secretary to the Government of India or equivalent (including GAP Sheet/NIC/NRC, or an undertaking if NRC is not issued).
- Integrity Certificate.
- Vigilance Clearance certificate as per proforma.
- Major/minor penalty statement for the last 10 years.
- Cadre clearance incorporating willingness to join the post on deputation basis.
Important Conditions
- The terms and conditions of the deputation will be governed by DoPT's OM No. 6/8/2009-Estt. (Pay II) dated 17.06.2010, as amended.
- Conditional applications regarding place of posting or any other issue shall not be entertained.
- Applications received after the closing date and conditional applications will not be entertained.
- Candidates selected will not be allowed to withdraw their candidature.
- An officer failing to join the post after selection will be debarred from future deputation in NCB.
Mode of Selection
Selection will be assessed by the Selection Committee based on the information/details furnished in the Curriculum Vitae and supporting documents regarding Essential Qualification/Work Experience.
