Eligibility Details
Essential Qualifications:
- Officer Trainee (Company Secretary): Candidates should be Associate Member of Institute of Company Secretaries of India. The date of acquiring the certificate will be the date of acquiring essential qualification.
- Officer Trainee (Finance): CA / ICWA (CMA) Pass. The date of issuance of the final mark sheet will be taken as the date of acquiring essential qualification.
Age Limit:
- Upper Age Limit: 28 years as on 05.11.2025.
- Age Relaxations (Subject to reservation of post):
- OBC(NCL) candidates: 3 years
- SC/ST candidates: 5 years
- PwBD candidates: 10 years for UR/EWS; 13 years for OBC(NCL) & 15 years for SC/ST
- Victims of riots: As per Govt. of India directives

Important Conditions

- Only Indian Nationals of age 18 years or above are eligible.
- The candidature is provisional in nature at all stages.
- Caste/Category claims must be supported by certificates valid as on the closing date (05.11.2025).
- Selected candidates must execute a service agreement bond (Rs. 5,00,000/- for General/OBC/EWS and Rs. 2,50,000/- for SC/ST/PwBD candidates).
- Selected candidates must serve the organization for at least three years after training.
- Selected candidates must qualify in the Pre-Employment Medical Examination as per POWERGRID Norms.
Mode of Selection
The selection process involves:
- Written Test / Computer Based Test (CBT): Two sections: Professional Knowledge Test (PKT - 120 Qs) and Executive Aptitude Test (EAT - 50 Qs). 02 hours duration, 1/4 negative marking.
- Shortlisting for GD & Interview: Based on CBT marks (Category-wise ratio applied).
- Group Discussion (GD), Behavioral Assessment, and Personal Interview (PI).
Qualifying Criteria in CBT:
- Unreserved/EWS: Minimum 40% overall, subject to at least 30% in EAT and PKT separately.
- Reserved: Minimum 30% overall, subject to at least 25% in EAT and PKT separately.
Qualifying Marks in Interview:
- Unreserved / EWS: 40%
- Reserved vacancy: 30%
Weightage for Final Score: CBT Marks (85%), Group Discussion (3%), Personal Interview (12%). Empanelment is based on the final score.
